The name of the section is in large letters at the top. In this example, the section is about Modern Firearms.
The major topics for Modern Firearms are listed in smaller letters just below. First is the page that tells you what you need to learn and remember about this topic. Next, in this example, you will learn about the evolution of modern firearms, different types of firearms, the actions on firearms, and then you will take the quiz on modern firearms. In the course, you can click on the major topics to review that section (the links are disabled in this example). It is very important, however, that you follow the arrows at the bottom of the page so that you don't skip any pages. You may use these links to review before your quiz.
The title for the page, which will let you know what you'll be learning on that page, is in large green letters below the line.
The logo for IHEA (the International Hunter Education Association) is at the left. This is a reminder to all of us that the most important part of hunting is to be safe, responsible, knowledgeable and involved. This is why you are taking this course! The logo is also a link to the site map (Table of Contents) for this course. Click on the logo to get to that page.
At the bottom of each page is a navigation bar:
Click on "Home" to take you to the home page of this course. "Next" takes you the next page, and "Back" takes you to the previous page.
You'll also see a progress bar at the very bottom of each page.
This image helps you know about how far you are in the section. The triangle moves along the bar as you go through the section. You can click on "Start" to go to the first page of the section. In our example, it would take you to the first page in Modern Firearms. You can click on "Done" to go to the quiz about Modern Firearms.
There is a quiz for each section. You must take the quiz and print out your scores for each section. There is no quiz that covers the entire online course. This may be done by your state or province. Most will require that you take a hands-on skills course in person.
Help: The help page offers additional tips and glossary of terms.
Notes Page (optional): At the beginning of each section you can print the "What You Should Know" page. This page is a good place to write down your notes and any questions you may want to ask your instructor when you get to class. The course checklist will also seve as a notes page.
Ready? Let's go! To begin, click on the "next" arrow at the bottom of this page.
